The Monterey Library has been working with the Housatonic Heritage Oral History Center at Berkshire Community College to move recorded oral history interviews to the University of Massachusetts Libraries Special Collections online archives. First, with a Housatonic Heritage technical assistance grant, the Library hired an intern, who transcribed the interviews, filled out metadata forms for the archive, and uploaded the files (in two video formats). Here is a link to one of those interviews, conducted by Wendy Germain. The Library project is coordinated by Wendy Germain. Joe Makuc was the intern. Both Wendy and Joe have been working closely with the Oral History Center. See the link below for one of those interviews. We will keep you posted as we upload more files.
